SINGAPORE: The National University of Singapore (NUS) has stepped up the general cleaning and disinfection of areas with high human traffic in the campus.

It is also in touch with the four NUS students who had recently attended a camp organised by the School of Design and Environment student club and who subsequently tested positive for H1N1. These students are recovering well.

NUS said those who were in close contact with these confirmed cases are on self-quarantine and are monitoring their health while the premises occupied by the camp participants have been thoroughly disinfected.

The university added that participation in orientation activities is voluntary and organisers of events on campus are required to observe enhanced preventive measures which include declaration of travel history by participants and temperature-taking twice a day.
