How reliable is the internet - especially on HEALTH?

My kids do their research over the internet. I do my research over the internet. My wife looks for recipes over the worldwide web. And there are a lot more reliable resources that you can find in the internet, and make good use of the information that you find in their trusted sites.

But not all.

Just as talk is cheap, so it is now with internet. Easy to put up a spurious site, and mislead people. It is even easier for others to 'hack' into others 'good' sites, and inject malicious content.

And while we can continue discussing on and on, here is but one very important news that should matter most, especially, since the impact is on the incorrectness of information given on HEALTH.

Read the news article here, from BBC news: Internet child health advice 'wrong'.

Just as I always tell my kids, read through and through, and validate what you get from the web. Some will give you wrong information, and many will altogether mislead you.

Caveat emptor - the term is most befitting to the use of the web.
